Software for community-serving organizations

Technology that strengthens the organizations serving our communities.

Starhaven develops intelligent software that helps community-serving organizations manage their operations, support their staff, and focus more of their resources on the people who depend on them.

01 / Our purpose

Essential work deserves better technology.

Make it easier to ask for help.
Make it easier to deliver it.

Many smaller community-serving organizations run on limited resources, disconnected tools, and demanding administrative requirements. Applications arrive on paper and email, records live in spreadsheets, and reports are rebuilt by hand every quarter.

Starhaven is building accessible software that brings that work together, so staff spend less time on administration and more time with the people they serve.

02 / Introducing Starhaven One

One workspace for intake, cases, and the work in between.

In development

Starhaven One is a cloud-based platform we're developing for community-serving organizations. Each organization will have its own secure workspace, staff accounts, permissions, and workflows configured around how it already works.

Both sides of the same request.

Step through one fictional request. The person asking for help always knows where things stand, and staff always know who owns the next step.

03 / What the platform will do

Built around the work your team already does.

These are the capabilities we're designing now. Each will be shaped by conversations with the organizations that would use it.

    • Digital intake and applications

Configurable intake forms for applications and service requests. Staff review submissions, request missing information, and route work to the right team.

    • Case and program management

Service records, program participation, and follow-up in one place, visible only to authorized staff.

    • Staff dashboards and task coordination

Each person sees their assignments, deadlines, and what needs attention today.

    • AI-assisted administrative work

Summaries, drafts, and missing-information checks that staff review and approve. AI never makes decisions about the people you serve.

    • Reporting and analytics

Program activity and outcome reports built from verified records, not rebuilt by hand each quarter.

    04 / Who we serve

Built for organizations that deliver essential services.

Small and midsize nonprofits share the same core work: taking in requests, tracking services, coordinating staff, and reporting results. Starhaven One is being designed to adapt to each organization's programs.

Two colleagues review printed documents together at a desk.

    Housing and homelessness services

Assistance applications, document collection, partner referrals, and program reporting.

A professional reviews a binder of documents at a desk near a window.

    Legal aid and advocacy

Client screening, deadline tracking, and document preparation, with strict confidentiality.

A woman works through paperwork with a laptop and calculator at a desk.

    Credit and financial counseling

Client sessions, action plans, workshop coordination, and follow-up.

A team gathers around a planning map on a conference table.

    Community and social services

Program enrollment, resource referrals, and coordination across teams.

And other nonprofits doing essential work

Food assistance, workforce development, youth and family services, and other community programs rely on the same kinds of workflows. If your organization takes in requests, tracks services, and reports on its work, we'd like to hear from you.

Starhaven One is designed to work alongside, not replace, the regulated, mandated, or specialized systems your programs may already require. Photographs are illustrative and do not depict Starhaven clients or partners.

    05 / Our approach

    Software, implemented with you.

New software only helps if it fits how your team works. Alongside Starhaven One, we'll help each organization configure it, move in, and keep it running, so adoption doesn't depend on having an IT department.

    1. STEP 01

      Discover

Understand your organization's needs, workflows, and existing systems.

    2. STEP 02

      Configure

Set up the intake forms, workflows, and permissions your team needs.

    3. STEP 03

      Implement

Test everything with your staff and prepare it for everyday use.

    4. STEP 04

      Enable

Train your team and provide ongoing support as your needs change.

    06 / Our commitment

Principles that guide what we build.

These shape every product decision, from the first design to ongoing support.

    • Accessible technology

Software that smaller organizations can afford, learn, and run without a dedicated IT team.

    • Responsible use of AI

AI is used where it saves staff time on administrative work, and never to make legal, housing eligibility, benefits, or other consequential decisions about people.

    • Human oversight

AI-generated content is reviewed by authorized staff before it becomes part of a record or is shared outside the organization.

    • Respect for sensitive information

We'll review each organization's privacy, confidentiality, and reporting requirements before any real client data is used.

    • Transparent pricing and support

Clear explanations of what's included, what costs extra, and what the software can't do, before anyone commits.

    Pilot inquiries

    Help shape Starhaven One.

We're speaking with a small number of community-serving organizations about their workflows and possible participation in an early pilot. A conversation is free and doesn't commit you to anything.

    Please keep it general

Don't include client names, case details, health or financial information, or any other confidential records. Describe the kind of work that takes your team's time, and we'll take it from there.

What you submit is delivered to our business inbox through our form provider and used only to respond to you. It is never entered into an AI tool. Read the privacy notice.
